Marcello Cherchi, M.D., Ph.D.

Overview: Dr. Cherchi is a physician at Chicago Dizziness and Hearing. There, with Dr. Timothy Hain, he has been taking care of (many) dizzy patientsfor 2 years, and has had an immense clinical experience in evaluating and treating persons disorders of hearing and balance. He also has a unique expertise related to central disorders of speech, combining a Ph.D in linguistics (with many publications) with clinical neurological training and Neurology board certification. Dr. Cherchi is a prolific writer, with many publications in the past concerning linguistics, with a gradual shift over to publications related to otoneurology. Dr. Cherchi is also engaged in several research projects related to dizziness, and is funded by NIH to investigate triceps-VEMP's, which is a test relevant to cervical vertigo.
