Contact Information and TransportationLast updated: December 19, 2008 Telephones:
The fastest way to get a prescription refilled is to have your pharmacy fax us at 312-274-0198. Email:We can reliably be reached by email at: reception@dizziness-and-balance.com. Note that like most email, this is not secure -- we advise against using email to transmit information that should not be public. Email to the medical assistant (medassist@dizziness-and-balance.com) is often the fastest way to get a medical question answered. Email to the audiologists (audiology@dizziness-and-balance.com) is usually the quickest way to get an answer to a hearing related question. By Mail:Our mailing address is
Location:
Chicago Dizziness and Hearing is located in downtown Chicago, one block east of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. While our address says that we are on Michigan, actually the entrance is on Erie, just east of Michigan avenue. We are next-door in the building to Renee Day Spa, adjacent to the TGIF restaurant on Erie, and across the street from the Corner Bakery. Parking: We provide parking stickers for two lots. One is attached to the hospital and is between Superior and Huron. The other is at the Fairbanks and Erie/Ontario. These are most clearly marked on the hotel map below, as 'P'. A printable set of directions in a PDF form is here. What we would do -- take public transportation !: CTA maps are available here. We strongly advise taking the train during the summer as downtown Chicago is congested, but the train is terrific, and the train stations are all within a short (i.e. $6.00 or so) cab ride away. If you don't mind walking, the Metra station that services South Chicago (Millennium Park) is only 6 blocks away, and in a beautiful and safe part of Chicago. From the North, there are trains that go to Union Station (which takes a cab to get to CDH). If you take the CTA trains, the Randolph Lake exit is the best, as it is just 2 blocks from Michigan and Millennium Park. If you take the CTA bus, you can get off within a block (take one that goes up Michigan, and get off on Erie). Recently public transportation has become congested and parking has been difficult to access close to peripheral Metra stations. You may want to keep this in mind. Nice but a bit expensive places to eat very close to our office:
Basic and fairly cheap places to eat close to our office
There are a large number of very nice places to eat (see above) and shop (for example, Macys and Nordstroms)within close proximity, and as long as you come downtown, you may want to make it an enjoyable day-trip. We encourage people who don't live within walking distance to take the train/cab combination, to avoid the downtown traffic.
If you are going to our address, you can park at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Parking lot on Huron. This is 1 block away from our clinic. We will provide you with a parking sticker which will cover parking for 4 hours. Bring your parking ticket with you. For those who live in the suburbs of Chicago, or who don't want to drive, we highly recommend taking the train. The regional transit authority web site has details as to train schedules. The combination of taking the METRA or CTA and a cab (or just walking) is faster and cheaper than nearly any alternative. If you can get to the South Side Metra, the end of the line at Randolph (Millennium Park/South water street) is only 6 blocks along the Magnificent Mile to our clinic. The bus is also extremely convenient to our office - -Buses go up and down Michigan. Hotels:There are many hotels within a short distance of our practice, including several within a block.
